Location: Cypress, CA Industry: International Freight Forwarding / Global Logistics Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite Compensation: $25-$35/hr, depending on experienceAbout the OpportunityA well-established international logistics and freight forwarding organization is seeking an experienced Air Export Coordinator to join its Air Operations team in Cypress, CA. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on international air export experience who understands how to manage shipments from start to finish. The Air Export Coordinator will work directly with customers, airlines, consolidators, ground handlers, warehouses, truckers, and overseas agents to ensure shipments move accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with U.S. export regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesAir Export OperationsCoordinate international air export shipments from booking through departure and final handoffArrange transportation and coordinate cargo movement with airlines, consolidators, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agentsMonitor flight departures, arrivals, and shipment milestonesProvide proactive shipment updates to customers and internal teamsAssist with quoting and rate negotiations as neededTroubleshoot delays, documentation issues, routing changes, and other shipment exceptionsExport Documentation & CompliancePrepare, issue, and review Master Air Waybills (MAWB) and House Air Waybills (HAWB)Review commercial invoices, packing lists, letters of instruction, certificates, and other shipment-specific documentationHandle or coordinate AES filingsEnsure compliance with applicable EAR and OFAC requirementsReview shipper and consignee information, Incoterms, commodity descriptions, routing instructions, and destination requirementsIdentify potential compliance concerns, special handling requirements, or shipment red flags and escalate when appropriateMaintain accurate and complete shipment documentation and recordsCustomer & Agent CommunicationServe as a primary point of contact for customers throughout the air export processCoordinate with overseas agents to ensure smooth destination handoff and handlingRespond quickly to shipment inquiries, exceptions, and changing requirementsWork closely with internal sales, customer service, and operations teamsBilling & File ManagementAccurately enter shipment details, charges, and vendor costs into the operating systemReview vendor invoices and resolve discrepanciesAssist with job costing and timely file closeoutMaintain organized and accurate shipment filesWhat We're Looking ForPrevious experience in air export, international freight forwarding, or airfreight operationsStrong understanding of the international air export processExperience coordinating shipments from start to finish / A-to-ZFamiliarity with MAWB, HAWB, AES, EAR, OFAC, Incoterms, and export documentationExperience working directly with airlines, truckers, warehouses, consolidators, customers, and overseas agentsStrong customer service and communication skillsExcellent attention to detail, particularly with documentation and complianceAbility to manage multiple active shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address shipment exceptionsWhat You'll GainCompetitive compensation based on experienceCollaborative, team-oriented environmentOpportunity for continued growth within international logistics, air freight, ocean freight, and trade complianceExposure to a diverse range of commodities, customers, and global trade lanesCompensation: $25-$35/hr, depending on directly relevant air export and freight forwarding experience.
