Job Title: Part Time Accounts Receivable Specialist

Reports to: Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Woburn, MA – Hybrid/Remote

Compensation: Non-Exempt $20.00 per hour

At American Gas Products, Inc. (AGP), the Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for supporting the organization's accounts receivable processes, including timely and accurate cash application, customer account reconciliation, collections activities, and financial reporting.

This role works closely with customers, sales teams, and other accounting personnel to maintain accurate financial records, resolve account discrepancies, and support the company's cash flow objectives.

• Manage national customer accounts, including ensuring timely billing according to customer specifications, responding to customer inquiries, monitoring timely payments, managing customer portals, reconciling customer accounts, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Upload and manually apply customer payments within AGP's ERP system.
• Conduct collection calls and follow up on past-due customer balances.
• Communicate and collaborate with various AGP departments to obtain supporting documentation as needed.
• Assist with the month-end accounts receivable close process.
• Maintain accurate accounts receivable filing systems, processes, and reports.
• Support all aspects of the accounts receivable and customer account management process.
• Assist in developing reports related to customer accounts and financial data.
• Assist in developing and implementing accounts receivable management plans and collection strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of accrual-based accounting principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Hands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and other spreadsheet functions, as well as proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across departments and with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and professionally.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant accounts receivable, accounting, or bookkeeping experience preferred.
