Accounts Payable Specialist

Weston & Sampson is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with 2-5 years of experience in our Reading, MA office in a hybrid working environment. The candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented team player capable of taking on various aspects of accounting support within the department with increasing responsibility as the company continues to grow.

What you'll do:

• Perform a high volume of project-based payable payable activities in accordance with invoice terms and company policies
• Support the monthly close by monitoring general ledger activity and following up on missing invoices with vendors
• Process credit card transactions and follow up with holders to properly allocate activity to correct general ledger accounts
• Process expense reports for employees and properly document activity with support/receipts
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Coordinate with the Billing Team regarding PWP charges
• Coordinate with Billing Team and G/L team for Intercompany billings/payables
• Provide additional accounting and administrative support as needed within the department
• Collaborate with team members and project managers to resolve billing and account inquiries

Initial responsibilities will focus on one or more of the above areas, with opportunities to expand responsibilities over time.


What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or similar related field (strongly preferred but not required)
• 2-5 years of professional experience in accounting, finance, or a related role.
• Experience in construction and/or engineering industry a plus
• Experience with Deltek VantagePoint is a plus
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong problem-solving, research, documentation and data analysis skills
• Detail oriented, reliable, professional and positive attitude
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required
• Ability to multitask, adapt quickly to change, and follow tasks through to completion
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment and assist with additional duties as needed

Hourly Rate Range- $31.00-$36.00
