Graduate Assistant for Special Collections Teaching and Outreach NC State University Libraries is seeking a graduate assistant to support work in the Special Collections Research Center’s (SCRC) Teaching and Outreach program at the D. H. Hill Jr. Library. This position provides hands‑on experience with teaching and outreach using special collections materials, including archival materials and rare books. The assistant will be integrated into a team of library professionals to provide direct support to students and faculty across disciplines. Responsibilities Manage planning logistics for teaching and outreach activities, including instruction sessions and outreach events. Prepare archival materials and supplies for instruction and outreach activities. Support SCRC librarians with archival research, item selection, and lesson plan design. Develop supporting materials such as research tutorials and materials lists. Support research consultations and reference requests with students. Support outreach activities, including tabling events, pop‑up exhibits, and workshops. Qualifications Must be enrolled in a graduate program. Experience with teaching and outreach. Familiarity with archives and special collections resources. Availability to work up to 20 hours per week, including possible evenings and weekends. Benefits Childcare discounts.
