Accounts Payable Accountant

Job Description Job Description Job Responsibilities Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures. Enter vendor invoices and employee reimbursements into QuickBooks. Print checks as required. Review vendor statements and be able to research and resolve any discrepancies. Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries in a timely manner. Assist in preparing accounts payable‑related financial reports for management. Assist in entering employee timecards for payroll processing. Assist in purchasing supplies and making payments on purchases. Maintain department’s files to ensure they remain accessible when needed by Company personnel or outside auditors. Assist the Accounting Manager with the day‑to‑day, monthly and year‑end operations of the Accounting Department. Assist in general accounts reconciliations, including bank statements, petty cash accounts, credit card accounts, fixed assets, employer’s benefit costs, accruals and prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities accounts and others. Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim financial reporting. Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Manage all administrative duties and additional projects assigned by the Accounting Manager. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in using accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks (Preferred). Experience with general ledger accounting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record‑keeping. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting highly desirable.
