Diabetes Educator RN

What we offer Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Location: Presbyterian Medical Center - Charlotte, NC; Presbyterian is our 661 bed level 2 trauma center centrally located just outside of uptown Charlotte. As a Diabetes Education Specialist with Novant Health you’ll be trusted to support diabetic patients and their families. You will help drive safe, compassionate care where it matters most. A dynamic full-time opportunity working with diabetic patients in all hospital units Work/life balance with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call Access to continuing education and leadership support Inclusive culture grounded in teamwork, trust, and shared purpose What you'll do Patient consults for patients and their families, providing education on diabetes, often to newly diagnosed patients Surveillance of blood sugars Participate in best practice committees and facility work groups Support team member education as a diabetes subject matter expert What we’re looking for Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. BSN, required. Graduate Degree, preferred. Experience: Minimum of three years of clinical experience in nursing, required. Acute care experience preferred. Experience working with diabetic patients is strongly preferred. Patient education experience a plus. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse in appropriate State, required. Care and Compressions, required. Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Knowledge, ability and skills to support diabetes education to accommodate cultural diversity, age specific or behavioral needs among the patients being served.
