This position is responsible for configuring, operating, and maintaining various enterprise-wide systems as well as supporting internal IT partners across the enterprise. The IT Operations Technician will provide technical support to Nucor Data Systems as required. Installing, configuring, testing, and supporting various business applications and infrastructure hardware (networking, computers, camera systems, wireless hand-held devices, etc.). This position will be based onsite at either our Nucor Data Systems location in Frankfort, KY or Madison, IN. The selected candidate will provide support for both locations and must be willing to travel regularly, typically 60/40, between Frankfort and Madison.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide technical support to employees using phone, email, chat, and the ticketing system; provide in-person support to onsite employees and remote support to other locationsOrder, configure, and deploy new equipment and manage used inventoryAssist in the implementation/installation, maintenance/troubleshooting, and licensing of software and applicationsTroubleshooting and maintaining IT infrastructure equipment such as computers/laptops, phones, servers, access control systems and network devicesCreate and support user account and group membership setupsSupport project work as assignedCreate and maintain documentation regarding incidents, projects, and inventoryWork a rotational on-call IT support schedule that may include evenings and weekends as neededMust obtain AZ-900 Certification, MD-102, and AZ-104 Certification within the first year. This role plays a key part in accelerating our AI and automation roadmap, including the design and implementation of agentic systems that reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency. This position will require a partnership with business stakeholders to translate real operational challenges into scalable, AI-powered solutions.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Business Technology (NBT) will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
