Disease Intervention Specialist/Public Health Rep 4

Job Title Disease Intervention Specialist/Public Health Rep 4 Location Nashville, TN/Hybrid Duration 14+ Months Schedule 7am to 3.30pm The contractor will be expected to be in office two days a week according to the rotation they are placed on. Overview This contractor will work as a Disease Intervention Specialist/Public Health Rep 4 alongside existing STI staff to ensure interviews, partner services, testing and re-testing of patients and partners are conducted and that each case is treated appropriately. This includes focusing on priority populations such as women of reproductive age amid rising congenital syphilis cases and men who have sex with men. STI rates have increased year over year for the last five years in TN, with sharp increases in gonorrhea, syphilis, and congenital syphilis. The role supports the MCR STI staff in conducting quality STI investigation and partner services in regional and local health departments. The contractor is expected to complete the minimum trainings required of a DIS 1 within the first six months of employment and to complete the online Passport to Partner Services modules before conducting partner services activities. See a more detailed DIS 1 job description attached. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in social work or another related field. Substitution of Experience for Education Qualifying full‑time professional health program field experience as a disease specialist that has completed ISTDI or Passport to Partner Services DIS training—covering investigation, prevention, or treatment of communicable disease patients—may be substituted for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis to a maximum of four years. Other Requirements Necessary special qualification: a valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
