About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: Required: BLS, ACLS Preferred: ONS Must-Have: - Epic experience - 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio experience - Ability to float within the unit Description: First-time travelers welcome. Unit specializes in Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant. Patient population includes patients with cancer diagnoses. Unit features a 7-bed positive pressure wing for Bone Marrow Transplant and acute leukemia patients. Responsibilities include bedside CVC placements and bone marrow biopsies. Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, barcode medication administration, and SCD machines. Knowledge in administering chemotherapy and blood product administration is essential. Strong skills in IV management and telemetry monitoring required. Must adhere to isolation precautions and demonstrate the ability to manage dysrhythmias. Weekend coverage required every other week. Patient ratio during days and nights is 1:4. Trained interdisciplinary support teams available, including IV teams and physical therapy.
