Mr. Shucks Seafood has been in business for 15 years and is growing the brand through a sister restaurant located on St. Simon's Island! We are looking for seasoned, professional leaders to join our team and continue the growth of the operations.
Our work environment includes a high volume and high paced atmosphere with the expectations of our leaders to be hands on in the operation with the team most of the day.
Operations & Food Quality
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes meet established quality, taste, and presentation standards.
- Monitor prep levels, portion control, and inventory to reduce waste and maintain profitability.
- Ensure all seafood products are handled, stored, and prepared according to health and safety standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and occupational health standards.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is maintained, cleaned, and operated safely.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Financial Management
- Manage food and labor costs in line with budget expectations.
- Track inventory, order supplies, and work with vendors to secure quality ingredients at competitive pricing.
- Assist in menu development and seasonal updates to align with customer demand and profitability goals.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide hands-on leadership during peak hours, supporting line cooks and prep staff.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and coach team members for growth and improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven 3 years experience as a kitchen manager or similar role in a high-volume establishment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Extensive knowledge of food handling, preparation, and presentation techniques.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software for inventory control and menu planning.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. - Ability to stand in a hot, busy environment for long periods of time.
