Litigation Legal Assistant

Based in Miami, FL

Phillips, Richard and Rind, PA, an established boutique union-side labor and employment law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support the senior partner whose practice focuses on labor and employment law and employee benefit trust funds.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing materials for monthly employee benefit trust fund meetings
• Assisting with the preparation of trust fund documents and related correspondence
• Managing attorney calendars, scheduling, and court deadlines
• Preparing, proofreading, and electronically filing legal documents in State and Federal courts
• Maintaining case files and litigation calendars and assisting with attorney’s travel arrangements when needed
• Communicating professionally with clients, trustees, opposing counsel, court personnel, and third parties
• Set up Conference Calls, Teams or Zoom for hearings and meetings.
• Assisting with arbitration preparation, hearings, and related litigation support

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience 
• Experience with State and Federal e-Filing and court procedures
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment

Our practice is highly specialized and prior experience in labor and employment law or ERISA, while preferred, is not required. We will train.
