Commercial Collections SpecialistClayton Services is searching for commercial collections specialists to join a growing financial services organization in central Houston. The commercial collections specialist will be responsible for negotiating payment arrangements, managing a portfolio of commercial accounts, and working directly with business owners to resolve delinquent obligations.Job type: Direct hire. Pay rate: $22.00 - $24.00/hour + uncapped commission. Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays, and growth opportunities.Commercial Collections Specialist Responsibilities:Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts in a fast-paced collections environmentContact business owners and company representatives through phone, email, and written correspondenceNegotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and resolution strategiesMonitor account activity and maintain accurate documentationPerform skip tracing and investigative research to locate responsible partiesMaintain scheduled follow-up activities and account deadlinesReview account documentation and identify collection opportunitiesMeet established productivity, recovery, and activity goalsProvide professional customer service while resolving delinquent accountsGenerate weekly activity and performance reportsCommercial Collections Specialist Skills and Abilities:Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict-resolution skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to build rapport with business owners and decision-makersStrong phone presence and confidence handling difficult conversationsAbility to manage a high-volume workload while maintaining attention to detailStrong organizational and time management skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesSelf-motivated and goal-oriented with a competitive mindsetStrong investigative and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to learn and understand legal collection processesProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsCommercial Collections Specialist Education and Experience:High school diploma or GED requiredAssociate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum 2 years of collections experience requiredCommercial collections experience is strongly preferredConsumer collections experience involving judgments, garnishments, legal collections, or litigation support will be consideredExperience with skip tracing and account research preferredKnowledge of UCC liens, commercial collections, legal recovery processes, garnishments, and judgments preferredExperience working in a call center, financial services, lending, or collections environment preferredMust be able to successfully pass a background checkCommercial collections specialist - immediate need.
