A well established Charleston Plaintiff's law firm seeks an experienced paralegal to assist assigned attorney with complex Personal Injury cases.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of four (4) years experience in Personal Injury case management
- Paralegals with Workers' Compensation experience will be given preference
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with others, both internally and externally
- Litigation experience is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Able to work as a team member
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent computer skills
- Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
- Bachelors' degree preferred
- Experience with case management software
- MUST have a proven record assisting attorneys with all phases of case management, from initial intake to trial tasks.
DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update clients with case status
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and other litigation documents
- Obtain, organize, and analyze case-related documents and records
- Identify and coordinate expert witnesses
- Prepare cases for trial, including compiling a trial notebook and coordinating witnesses
- Assist attorneys during trial
- Maintain all information regarding client matters in the case management database
