Help Desk Support Specialist

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Help Desk Support Specialist for a contract position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Dallas, TX. This role provides comprehensive end-user and network support for all software applications, hardware, and infrastructure. The specialist will be responsible for installations, upgrades, data backup and recovery procedures, and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve end user hardware and software issues in a timely and courteous manner
• Provide technical guidance to end users utilizing non-technical terminology
• Log and maintain detailed records regarding customer inquiries and related solutions
• Properly escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support
• Perform administration of Windows Server, Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 10), Microsoft Office, Exchange 2010 and higher, Office 365, and Photoshop
• Administer network switches and routers
• Perform data backup, recovery, and testing in a tightly controlled environment
• Document network and data workflow using Visio or other graphical tools
• Manage firewall and other security systems, remote access VPN, 2-factor authentication, IDS/IPS, and monitoring tools
• Support, design, and administer LAN and WAN topologies, carrier circuits, MPLS, and internet
• Install, configure, and manage virtual technologies including VMWare, vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
• Install, configure, and maintain server, appliance, switch, and router hardware in a secure data center
• Assure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
• Prior experience supporting a financial institution
• Understanding of information security systems, policies, procedures and compliance as it applies to technology systems, employees, and third parties
• Proficient problem resolution and root cause analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired skills:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
• ITIL familiarity
