Server Position

Captain's Table is an Ocean City tradition, proudly serving locals and visitors for more than 60 years. Known for its family-friendly service and consistently exceptional cuisine, Captain's Table features authentic coastal fare including fresh seafood, South African lobster tails, whole lobsters, and Certified Angus Beef steaks prepared with precision and care.

Captain's Table operates as part of The Harrison Group, a third-generation, family-owned hospitality company founded in 1951 and headquartered in Ocean City, Maryland. The Harrison Group owns and operates more than fifteen hotels and seven restaurants across Ocean City, Maryland; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Corolla, North Carolina; and Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience.

We are looking for a Full-Time, Year-Round Server to join our team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensil, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
2. Distributes menus and presents the daily specials.
3. Answers questions regarding the menu.
4. Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.
5. Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to customers.
6. Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to customers satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
7. Collects plates and clears the table as customers finish their meals.
8. Prepares customers checks and collects payments.
9. Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

1. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
2. Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
3. Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.

Education and Experience:

1. Must be at least sixteen years old (at least 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages).
2. Previous experience as a server preferred.
3. Must successfully complete restaurants training course.

Physical Requirements:

1. Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
2. Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
