Details Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital setting Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk obstetrical patients Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:00) Some weekend shifts required Floating between units required No on-call requirements Labor ratio 1:2 and Antepartum ratio 1:3 Cares for high-risk labor and delivery, antepartum, pre-eclampsia, diabetes, multiples, and VBAC/TOLAC patients Involves active labor management, induction/augmentation, and maternal emergencies Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required Experience with 1:2 patient ratios required Epic charting experience required Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, FHM, NRP Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line maintenance Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including adult and neonatal arrest Proficient in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation/scrub, and hemorrhage/shock management Experience administering high-risk medications such as magnesium sulfate, pitocin, and antihypertensives Skilled in antepartum care including NST, OCT, and fetal monitoring (external and internal) Experience caring for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and preterm labor Postpartum and newborn care skills including fundus/lochia checks, lactation support, and newborn assessment 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Full SSN and DOB required for compliance Additional Information Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum nursing care in a high-risk obstetrical setting Support maternal emergencies and high-acuity deliveries in a teaching hospital environment May be required to float between sister facilities within the state Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal flexibility once contract begins Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate Local radius rule of 50 miles applies Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff First-time travelers with independent L&D experience will be considered American Traveler Job ID P-750037.
