Executive Director, Strategy, Cell Therapy

AstraZeneca seeks a Strategy and Commercial Executive Director to lead end-to-end cell therapy strategy for defined indications, driving commercial initiatives and competitive intelligence across the Cell Therapy Enterprise. The role requires shaping portfolio strategy, delivering market insights, and executing global commercial plans while partnering cross-functionally with clinical, commercial, and senior leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver end-to-end indication-level strategy including unmet needs analysis and portfolio management
- Generate and oversee competitive intelligence, customer insights, market analytics to frame business problems and opportunities
- Lead global commercial cell therapy execution and build referral capabilities between disease areas and delivery centers
- Collaborate with clinical, commercial, and medical affairs teams to develop disease area strategy content and ensure execution
- Provide strategic counsel to Global Clinical Strategy Head, commercial leadership, and senior executives on cell therapy initiatives
Requirements
- BA/BS with 10+ years life sciences or consulting experience, OR MS/MBA with 8+ years, OR PhD/MD with 5+ years
- Strong analytical and communication skills with strategic thinking abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence experienced professionals effectively
- Critical thinking with capacity to anticipate, solve complex problems in matrixed environments
- Financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning experience
- Understanding of pharmaceutical business operations including R&D and product lifecycles
- Experience translating business needs into coordinated cross-functional plans with senior leadership
Compensation: $267,914-$401,870 base annual pay
