Job Description This full‑time opening is for the 2026‑2027 school year at the Mission Hills campus. The position is a Junior‑Kindergarten Associate Teacher and Coordinator with experience in early childhood teaching and an after‑school/extended‑day program. The assignment is one year, renewable annually. Essential Duties/Responsibilities Duties from 8:30 am to 3 pm: Work in cooperation with up to three junior‑kindergarten teachers and three associate teachers, ensuring appropriate child‑teacher ratios; instruct a variety of subjects in up to three separate classrooms; assist with playground duties and provide rotating relief for other JK support staff; assist with the creation, acquisition, and management of curricular materials. Hours: 8:30 am–3 pm, Monday‑Friday. After‑school Duties: Supervise Junior‑Kindergarten students; plan, coordinate, and manage the after‑school enrichment program; interact with students and provide a positive example. Hours: 3 to 5:30 pm. Additional Duties: Lead supervision during full‑day camps, including Spring Break, Mid‑Winter Break; be available during Professional Development Days (one week before school starts, one week after school ends, and 3‑4 times per year). Qualifications Availability Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Minimum of 12 units of Early Childhood Education and current CPR/First‑Aid certification. Bachelor’s Degree. Prior experience with preschool‑aged children, preferably in a school setting. Excellent organizational skills; collaboration with staff; quick learning of students’ names; willingness to work as a strong team member; ability to assist with staff hiring and supervision; effective communication with parents and management of concerns; implementation of safety and security practices; playground management consistent with school program; and a passion for helping young people succeed.
