Quick Facts Location: St. Louis, MO Start Date: 09/12/2026 End Date: 03/13/2027 Shift: Day shift (06:00 - 18:30), 5 days/week, 8-hour shifts Hours/week: 40 Employment Type: Contract Licenses/Certifications: Missouri license, BLS, ACLS Experience: Minimum 2 years, trauma Level I experience required Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $156.00 Benefits include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated team support What You’ll Do Provide inpatient management for high-acuity adult cardiac surgery patients on the stepdown service Support patients with diagnoses including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgeries Conduct daily assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning Manage arrhythmias, pacemakers, and electrolyte abnormalities Monitor surgical drains, chest tubes, and wound care Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams Recognize clinical deterioration and escalate care as needed What You Need Required: Board-certified NP or PA Missouri state license or eligible for licensure BLS and ACLS certifications Minimum of 2 years experience in cardiac or trauma level I setting Proficient in managing complex cardiac patients, including volume management and infection control Preferred: Trauma Level I experience Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent communication and professionalism skills About the Assignment You will be supporting the cardiac surgery stepdown unit at a leading facility in St. Louis, Missouri. This role involves critical inpatient care, including pre and post-operative patient management with a focus on complex adult cardiac cases.
