Quick Facts Location: St. Louis, MO Start Date: 08/24/2026 End Date: 11/23/2026 Shift: Day, 06:00 AM – 06:30 PM Hours/Week: 40 Employment Type: Temp/Contract License/Certifications: MO license, BLS required, RNFA preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $167.70 Benefits: Competitive pay packages, weekly pay via direct deposit, medical benefits (W-2), referral bonus program, licensure and travel reimbursements, paid sick time per laws, 24/7 support team What You’ll Do Assist in complex adult cardiothoracic surgeries including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs, and ascending aortic procedures Support surgical teams during open sternotomy, valve replacements, and dissections Participate in procedures such as minimally invasive vein harvesting and endoscopic vein removal Aid in mechanical circulatory support procedures like Impella, ECMO, and IABP Manage perioperative patient care in a busy, high-volume hospital environment Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety standards What You Need Required: Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery Missouri medical license or willingness to license BLS certification Minimum 2 years of adult cardiac surgery first assist experience Preferred: RNFA certification About the Assignment This position involves supporting a team of five cardiac surgeons at a prestigious academic hospital, assisting with a wide variety of adult cardiothoracic procedures.
