Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring CA RN license and prior trauma ICU experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds,
• Level II Trauma facility caring for critically ill ICU patients,
• Day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM,
• Required to work every other weekend,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Floating required between like units and potentially to sister facilities,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required,
• NIHSS certification preferred,
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required,
• Level II Trauma experience required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience managing ventilated and respiratory failure patients,
• Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients including cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and renal cases,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• Facility may call off shifts up to once per two-week pay period,
• Local candidates accepted; radius rule of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submission RTO requests may not be accommodated,
• Scrub color for RNs is Royal Blue or Navy Blue,
