As a Human Resources Intern for PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota, you’ll have the opportunity to be part of the teams building innovative infrastructure projects that shape the future of your community!

This internship begins in January 2027 as a part-time role (20-25 hours/week) during the school year and transitions to a full-time schedule (40 hours/week) for the summer from May-August 2027.

Here's how a Human Resources Intern for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within Minneapolis contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Human Resources and Professional Development (HRPD) operations through administrative support, research, reporting, and employee service activities.
• Assist with recruiting efforts, including candidate sourcing support, phone screenings, interview scheduling, and maintaining applicant tracking records.
• Coordinate onboarding activities for new hires, including preparing onboarding plans, completing employment documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and facilitating new hire check-ins.
• Provide support to employees and managers by answering questions and assisting with HR systems, processes, and company communications.
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of employee data, HR databases, records, and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate training and development activities by scheduling sessions, sending invitations, tracking attendance, managing training records, arranging logistics, and supporting facilitators during events.
• Support campus recruiting initiatives by registering for career fairs, posting positions, preparing recruiting materials, and representing the organization at recruitment events as needed.
• Assist with intern program coordination, including communications, onboarding activities, event planning, and engagement initiatives for summer interns.
• Help plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, outreach events, and other initiatives.
• Support employee programs and administrative processes, including wellness reimbursements, benefits tracking, and other HR-related activities.
• Conduct periodic jobsite visits to ensure required labor law and company postings are maintained and up to date.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with employees, managers, and internal stakeholders while delivering a high level of customer service.
• Demonstrate a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset aligned with company values and culture.
• Participate in projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources, or a related discipline preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Professional customer service approach and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Driver’s License.
• Available to work in Minneapolis, MN, part-time during the workweek from January-May and full-time from May to August.
• Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

The estimated wage range for this role is $21-25/hour, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
