Assistant Pastor
Calvary House Veteran Support/Mt. Olive Multicultural Church
Seeking an Online Volunteer Assistant Pastor that supports the senior pastor by engaging, discipling, and caring for the congregation remotely.
Position Overview
- Role Type: Volunteer (Unpaid / Ministry Service)
- Time Commitment: 5 hours per week (including Sunday morning service)
- Location: Fully Remote / Online
- Platform Focus: Zoom
- Reports To: Senior Pastor
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Engagement: Assist with live, interactive services, welcome new attendees, deliver sermons
- Pastoral Care & Prayer: Respond to incoming prayer requests, offer virtual pastoral support, and follow up with first-time online visitors.
- Discipleship & Community: Help connect online attendees to virtual small groups, online classes, and next-step pathways.
- Volunteer Support: Assist in recruiting, training, and encouraging regular attendance
- Assimilation: Help members find ways to plug into deeper community, whether online or transitioning to in-person involvement when local.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Faith & Character: A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with the church’s statement of faith and values.
- Heart for Ministry: A pastoral heart with strong relational, listening, and empathy skills
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable navigating live-streaming platforms, social media, church management software, and chat apps.
- Reliability: Consistent attendance and availability during scheduled online service times and weekly team check-ins.
