Position Overview

The Skeletal Orthopedic Sports Rehab Clinic in Syracuse, New York, is seeking a dedicated full-time Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. This role involves engaging directly with patients to facilitate their recovery journeys, aiming to restore mobility and enhance overall performance. As part of an orthopedic outpatient practice, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating patients to improve their quality of life.

Located in a state-of-the-art 5000 square foot rehabilitation facility, Skeletal Orthopedic Sports Rehab Clinic specializes in sports medicine and orthopedic physical therapy. Our clinic is built on a foundation of high-quality care, employing advanced treatment techniques to ensure that our patients receive the best possible outcomes. Our team consists of experienced professionals, including two physical therapists and one Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), all committed to excellence in patient care.

Work Environment

This full-time position requires you to work onsite, providing a collaborative atmosphere that fosters teamwork and communication among healthcare professionals. Our clinic operates Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a structured yet flexible work schedule. Here, you'll have the opportunity to work closely with patients and staff, utilizing an array of rehabilitative tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and identify the specific goals and needs of each patient, developing personalized therapeutic plans for effective treatment.
• Manage a patient load of approximately one individual per hour, ensuring dedicated time and focus on each case.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to minimize reliance on medications, instead focusing on innovative non-surgical alternatives for treatment.
• Implement a variety of physical therapy techniques and modalities to facilitate rehabilitation, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and neuromuscular re-education.
• Motivate and guide patients throughout their recovery processes, fostering an environment of encouragement and support.
• Document all patient interactions, treatment services provided, and progress, utilizing Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as WebPT for efficient patient management.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to streamline treatment approaches and enhance overall patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment protocols based on evaluation and feedback.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary client focus includes individuals with private medical insurance seeking rehabilitation for orthopedic injuries and post-operative recovery. This role demands a compassionate approach to care, addressing the unique needs of diverse patient backgrounds, including athletes and active individuals looking to restore their functionality and performance levels.

Qualifications

• A completed Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program.
• An active Physical Therapist license in New York without any board actions or disciplinary measures.
• Demonstrated proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a solid understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation principles.
• Knowledgeable in the use of EMR software, specifically WebPT, to facilitate patient management and documentation.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in an orthopedic outpatient setting, particularly focusing on sports rehabilitation and therapy.
• Strong background in designing individualized exercise programs that cater to the specific rehabilitation needs of patients.

Compensation and Benefits
