Residential HVAC Senior Service & Sales Technician

On The Way AC is hiring a high-producing residential HVAC service technician who knows how to diagnose the fundamentals, communicate clearly, follow a structured process, and consistently produce at a high level.

This is not a maintenance-tech position where you run six calls a day and swap parts. It is not a comfort-advisor role for someone who cannot troubleshoot equipment. We are looking for a technician who can evaluate the entire system, identify legitimate problems and opportunities, explain them professionally, build solutions, and ask for the business.

What We Are Looking For

You should already be comfortable being measured by your results. Revenue, average ticket, conversion rate, replacement opportunities, customer experience, callbacks, documentation, and process execution all matter here. The right technician understands that the job does not end when the failed component is found. You inspect the whole system, gather real data, document your findings, communicate what matters, and give the homeowner clear options.

You should be comfortable with:

• Residential electrical diagnostics
• Refrigeration fundamentals, superheat, and subcooling
• Temperature split and system performance
• Static pressure and airflow
• Drainage and water-management issues
• Filtration and indoor air quality
• Duct-system conditions and airflow restrictions
• Equipment condition and replacement opportunities
• Presenting repairs, upgrades, and replacement options
• Financing conversations
• Asking for the sale

You do not need to know everything. You do need to troubleshoot the basics correctly, know when to ask for help, willing to learn and follow our process consistently. (We have continuous technical training in place)

This Role Is for Producers

We are looking for someone who has already demonstrated strong production in residential HVAC or knows they belong at the top of the board. If you track your numbers, know your average ticket, understand your conversion rate, generate replacement opportunities, and take pride in maximizing each legitimate customer opportunity, we want to talk to you. If you believe selling is somebody else's job, this is not the position for you.

Every customer gets a complete professional evaluation.  Inspect. Test. Measure. Document. Communicate. Build options. Present solutions. Ask for the business.  No scare tactics. No fabricated problems. No unnecessary repairs. At the same time, we do not ignore legitimate system problems because someone is uncomfortable having a financial conversation with the customer.

Find what is actually wrong. Prove it. Explain it. Give the homeowner options. Let them decide.

We give technicians enough time to properly evaluate the system and communicate with the homeowner. We would rather have you execute fewer opportunities correctly than race through calls while leaving legitimate customer needs undiscovered.

Schedule

Late-night calls are uncommon. Sunday service calls are not part of our normal schedule, and Saturdays are limited. We expect production while you are working, but we do not believe you need to live in a service van to earn serious money.

Minimum Requirements

• Residential HVAC service experience
• Strong understanding of basic HVAC diagnostics
• EPA 608 certification
• Strong homeowner communication skills
• Proven ability to present and sell residential HVAC solutions
• Comfortable using digital field-service software
• Strong documentation habits
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Ability to follow a structured service and sales process

This Position Is Probably Not for You If

• You are a parts changer instead of proper diagnostics 
• You are uncomfortable discussing money
• You avoid presenting options
• You do not track your performance
• You resist coaching or accountability
• You refuse to follow a defined process
• You consistently blame dispatch, pricing, leads, or customers for poor production
