Human Resources Director Position Summary: The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading the execution of Human Resources programs and processes across our multi‑location dealer group. This role partners closely with Ownership, the Controller, and General Managers to implement consistent, compliant, and effective people practices that support business operations. The HR Director is expected to uphold the values, ethics, and processes of DeNooyer Automotive Family. Reports To: Controller Position Type: Full Time Position Requirements Excellent oral and written communication skills Bachelors degree or higher in Business Administration or other related field High degree of accuracy and organization Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) to perform job duties Proficiency with computers and standard office systems; HRIS/ATS experience preferred 5+ years progressive HR experience preferred (multi-site or high-volume environment a plus) HR certification (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred Essential Functions and Responsibilities Organizational Development Identify and apply employment best practices that fit dealership operations Support consistent people practices by establishing clear HR processes, documentation standards, and manager tools across staffing, benefits administration, records management, and employee relations Develop the employer brand and support recruiting marketing in alignment with dealership needs Develop and maintain onboarding SOPs Plan and review staff job descriptions; monitor compensation Recruiting Partner with managers to open requisitions, align on must‑have requirements, and support a consistent interview and selection process Maintain job postings across approved platforms; manage posting calendar and vendor logins Maintain the ATS: requisitions, candidate workflow/status updates, communications, and basic reporting Conduct initial resume/phone screens and coordinate manager interviews (scheduling, candidate communication, follow‑up) Coordinate pre‑employment steps (references/background checks) and prepare offer letters using approved templates and ranges Execute onboarding administration: pre‑hire and new‑hire paperwork, HRIS setup, orientation scheduling, initial benefits enrollment steps, and offboarding paperwork Compliance Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and coordinate return‑to‑work and related documentation Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements; advise management on needed actions and coordinate policy/process updates Coordinate required agency reporting and requests as applicable (e.g., OSHA, EEOC, ACA/CMS/IRS‑related reporting, BLS, unemployment responses, and industry surveys such as NADA as directed) Work with outside counsel as needed to assess risk and address compliance gaps Maintain employment documents such as Employee Handbook, Benefit Guide, SPDs, SBCs, Emergency Response Plan Administrative Own the HRIS/ATS to ensure accurate data and clean workflows Manage benefits administration including renewals, open enrollment, vendor coordination, and employee support Oversee retirement plan administration and audit readiness; coordinate reporting cadence with providers/Third‑Party Administrators Provide market/pay insights and internal equity checks to support leadership decisions on pay structures Provide guidance to managers on employee relations situations, documentation standards, and consistent policy application Recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the organization Process HRIS transactions accurately and timely (hires, terminations, job/comp changes) and maintain personnel file discipline Respond to employment verifications and routine HR documentation requests Supervisory Responsibilities No direct reports currently Other Duties and Responsibilities Manager training sessions (WC, FMLA, Performance Reviews, etc.) Coordinate dealership Red Flag/Dealership Law training Internal communications Run benefit meetings and new hire orientation as needed Provide limited backup support for payroll coordination when necessary; primary payroll ownership remains with accounting Maintain a professional image and positively represent the DeNooyer Automotive Family Physical and Environmental Demands Ability to sit at a computer for several hours at a time Ability to move throughout multiple business locations Benefits Health, vision, and dental insurance 401(k) with match Paid time off Paid volunteer days Company paid short term disability Employee discounts #J-18808-Ljbffr
