Director, Integrated Supply Chain

Director, Integrated Supply Chain Location: South Plainfield, New Jersey Shift: M-F 9am-5pm In this senior role you will provide strategic leadership for procurement, sourcing, logistics, courier/vendor management, supplier management, and related site operations. You will build and lead a scalable, high‑performing, data‑driven procurement and logistics function that delivers cost optimization, supply assurance, timely movement of critical materials, supplier and courier performance, compliance, talent development, and operational alignment across global sites, laboratories, manufacturing operations, and business stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop and execute an integrated procurement strategy that supports global Multiomics business objectives, including cost savings, supply continuity, quality, compliance, and operational scalability. Lead strategic sourcing, category management, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier consolidation across direct and indirect spend categories. Build, lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing global procurement and logistics organization, including buyers, sourcing professionals, procurement operations support, and related supply chain team members across multiple locations. Establish supplier governance processes, including supplier scorecards, quarterly business reviews, service level agreements, corrective action plans, and continuous improvement expectations. Partner with Finance and business leaders to develop procurement budgets, savings targets, productivity initiatives, and spend analytics that improve margin and working capital performance. Oversee procurement support for new product introduction, existing product development, laboratory operations, manufacturing needs, and site‑level operational requirements. Drive end‑to‑end materials availability through inventory management and support implementation of SIOP processes. Provide strategic oversight of inbound and outbound logistics processes, including courier services, freight coordination, shipment visibility, delivery performance, cold chain or temperature‑sensitive shipments where applicable, and escalation of service disruptions impacting customers or operations. Evaluate, select, and manage courier, freight, transportation, and logistics partners to ensure service reliability, cost effectiveness, compliance, chain‑of‑custody expectations, and alignment with laboratory and customer turnaround‑time requirements. Develop procurement and logistics operating standards and workflows, including purchase order management, vendor onboarding, shipment coordination, courier escalation protocols, service level expectations, and reporting routines that support consistent execution across sites. Identify and mitigate supplier, material, logistics, facilities, and operational risks through proactive planning, dual sourcing, business continuity planning, and escalation management. Partner with Facilities and Operations stakeholders to ensure vendor support for maintenance, site services, safety, equipment lifecycle management, warehouse organization, and operational services is effectively sourced and managed. Ensure procurement processes comply with applicable policies, quality requirements, regulatory expectations, internal controls, and local, state, and federal standards where relevant. Leverage ERP, planning, sourcing, and analytics tools to improve visibility, automate procurement workflows, strengthen reporting, and support data‑driven decision‑making. Use procurement, logistics, and courier performance data to identify service gaps, reduce shipment delays, improve vendor accountability, and strengthen end‑to‑end supply chain visibility. Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators, including cost savings, purchase price variance, supplier performance, on‑time delivery, inventory health, contract compliance, and procurement cycle time. Champion Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives that improve procurement efficiency, supplier performance, materials flow, and site operations support. Prepare and present strategic updates, risk assessments, business cases, and operational performance reports to senior leadership. Serve as an accountable people leader by overseeing workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, goal setting, coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, recognition, engagement, and retention for direct and indirect team members. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, Finance, Life Sciences, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or operations experience, preferably in life sciences, biotechnology, laboratory services, manufacturing, or another regulated environment. Minimum 5+ years of people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and leading managers or geographically dispersed teams. Demonstrated experience developing procurement strategies, leading global sourcing initiatives, negotiating complex supplier agreements, and delivering measurable cost savings. Strong knowledge of direct and indirect procurement, category management, supplier relationship management, contract management, materials planning, inventory management, logistics coordination, courier/vendor management, and operational support processes. Experience partnering with Finance, Quality, Operations, Facilities, R&D, Commercial, and senior leadership to align procurement priorities with business outcomes. Strong understanding of supplier risk management, business continuity planning, quality expectations, regulatory considerations, and internal control requirements. Experience with ERP, MRP, sourcing, spend analytics, or planning systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred. Experience managing logistics, courier, freight, transportation, or time‑sensitive material movement processes in support of laboratory, manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, or customer‑facing operations preferred. Demonstrated ability to use data, KPIs, and analytics to solve complex business problems, influence decisions, and drive continuous improvement. Experience leading Lean, Kaizen, process improvement, or procurement transformation initiatives preferred. Professional certification such as APICS CPIM/CSCP, ISM CPSM, CPM, CIPS, Lean Six Sigma, or PMP preferred. Excellent communication, executive presentation, negotiation, change management, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead through ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and convert strategy into clear action plans across a complex global environment. Demonstrated ability to build team capability, set clear expectations, create accountability, develop future leaders, and foster an inclusive, collaborative, and performance‑driven team culture. Working Conditions & Schedule Hybrid role based in South Plainfield, NJ, with regular onsite presence required to support business, site, laboratory, and operational needs. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support suppliers, sites, business reviews, audits, and operational initiatives. Role may require periodic coordination with courier, logistics, warehouse, site operations, and customer‑facing teams to resolve urgent shipment, material availability, or service continuity issues.
