The position will be 40 hours per pay period:

2 days one week (either Wed/Thurs or Thurs/Fri),

3 days the next week (Wed – Fri).

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Brainerd Dental Clinic for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Dental Assistant! The Brainerd Dental Clinic provides patient-centered care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we are searching for a Licensed Dental Assistant that is a strong team player who treats their patients and teammates with dignity and respect. This Licensed Dental Assistant provides optimal care for these patients, responding to their needs in a respectful and professional manner. This position provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop a career as a dental assistant.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures.

• Assist providers in delivering quality care to patients.

• Sterilize instruments and infection control procedures.

• Accurately document treatment information in patient charts.

• Track lab cases.

• Assist the front office with clerical responsibilities, medical records, and scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed Dental Assistant with the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry.

• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Possess a caring and compassionate attitude towards people with special needs.

• Patient-centered and willing to adapt to the needs of the patient.

• Experience in chairside dental assisting, charting, and infection prevention

• Experience assisting in an IV Sedation or Hospital setting

• Completion of an Allied Sedation Course approved by the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry.

• Familiarity with Dentrix electronic health record

• Knowledge or prior experience with OSHA Compliance

• Prior Radiation Safety Officer experience

• Front office experience answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and patient follow up
