Step into a rewarding contract role working in an energetic kindergarten through 2nd grade instructional classroom. You’ll play a crucial part supporting five active young learners, each with their own unique personalities and needs. In this classroom, each student benefits from 1:1 assistance—a model that allows you to form meaningful bonds and make an immediate impact on your assigned student’s growth and daily success.
Your day will begin at 7:50am and end at 3:10pm, giving you a consistent, balanced schedule. Expect a dynamic environment where your dedication, patience, and creativity will be valued and celebrated.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar support role within schools
- Familiarity with behavioral and instructional strategies tailored for kindergarten-2nd grade students
- Ability to remain patient, proactive, and flexible when working with students who are highly active
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with lead teachers, specialists, and fellow paraprofessionals
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to an assigned student, assisting with academic, behavioral, and social needs
- Help implement individualized educational plans and adapt activities for engagement and accessibility
- Support classroom management by modeling positive behavior and assisting students in building self-regulation skills
- Collaborate with educators and related staff to track student progress and communicate observations
- Encourage independence and help students develop confidence in their abilities
