Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Sign Language Interpreter licensure for working in educational settings

• Strong communication skills, patience, and a collaborative approach
• Current resume and required licensure or certifications available for verification

Primary Responsibilities:

• Translate spoken English into ASL and interpret ASL into spoken English during class instruction, meetings, and school activities
• Support two students at the elementary level, ensuring equal access to academic content and communication
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and service providers to adapt interpreting to individual student needs
• Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism in all interpreting situations
• Foster positive relationships to help students fully participate in the educational environment

This role is based on a 37.5-hour workweek, running from August 2026 through May 2027, ideal for those seeking meaningful contract work in a vibrant school community.
