Job Summary

As the Catering Director for Kirkland & Ellis, you'll have the opportunity to lead a high-profile catering and events program within one of the world's leading law firms. This is a dynamic, client-focused environment where attention to detail, professionalism, and exceptional service are essential.

You will lead catering and event operations from initial planning through flawless execution, serving as a trusted partner to the Kirkland & Ellis team. You'll develop creative menus, build client relationships, lead catering staff, manage budgets and logistics, and ensure every event reflects the high standards of the firm.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a sophisticated corporate environment and enjoys combining client service, culinary excellence, team leadership, and operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and oversee internal and external catering events from start to finish.

• Build strong client relationships and provide comprehensive event planning and consultation.

• Develop creative menus and catering proposals based on client needs, event requirements, and budget.

• Manage booking, menu costing, pricing, contracts, and event budgets.

• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and develop catering staff while maintaining high service standards.

• Coordinate food preparation, transportation, equipment, setup, service, and event breakdown.

• Manage food and labor costs to ensure successful and profitable events.

• Develop and maintain catering marketing initiatives to support business growth.

• Coordinate with culinary, operations, vendors, and temporary staff to ensure seamless execution.

• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, hospitality, and guest satisfaction.

• Ensure compliance with company, health, safety, and sanitation standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or a related field required.

• 5+ years of hospitality experience, including 2+ years in management; catering management strongly preferred.

• Proven experience with event planning, menu costing, contract pricing, staffing, and event logistics.

• Strong understanding of food and labor cost management.

• Experience supervising food preparation, service, setup, and cleanup.

• Excellent client service, communication, organization, and leadership skills.

• Ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Professional presence with a passion for hospitality and creating exceptional guest experiences.
