Duties: As the Assistant to the Division Manager, the incumbent provides assistance to the Division Manager and supports DOE Branch Managers by leading activities related to revision, implementation, and maintenance of DOE procedures, and evaluation and enhancement of existing Division-wide engineering-related processes.

As a Permanent Intermittent position, the incumbent will work less than 1,500 hours per calendar year which is approximately 4 days per week on average.

Special Requirements

This position requires possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. This position is covered in the Political Reform Act and requires financial disclosure within 30 days of the first and last day physically worked in a covered position and annually by April 1st. Applicants must be able to travel on short notices including overnight lodging on some assignments and be willing to work irregular and extended hours during outages or emergencies.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working to create and revise engineering policies and procedures, knowledge and experience with the State Water Project, State Contract Act, Architectural and Engineering (A&E) contracts and non-A&E contracts, experience with leading/coordinating teams and working with a diverse group of people, public speaking/presentations, and working both independently and in a team setting.
