In this role, a successful candidate is responsible for owning the development, implementation, and management of the facility’s environmental compliance programs and systems. This position will ensure facility compliance with pertinent governmental regulations, including state and federal air regulations for air emissions, stormwater, wastewater, and hazardous waste. And, to learn more about our gypsum products, visit What You Will DoAct as the site's Environmental Technical Expert and GP Performance Standard OwnerManage compliance of federal (EPA) and state/local environmental program requirements, including but not limited to air, water/wastewater, stormwater, solid and hazardous waste, SPCC, CERCLA/EPCRA, TSCA, and FCCSupport and implementation of the Corporate Environmental Management System (Risk Management System), as well as integration of the environmental system into the plant’s overall operations planBe knowledgeable in environmental regulations (federal, state, and local) applicable to the facility and assess compliance, procedural and financial impacts to the facilityAnalyze incident/compliance trend data and work with operating departments to build environmental capability and reduce riskLead environmental incident investigations, mitigation, root cause analysis, & corrective actionsManage compliance calendar, coordinate activities, and prepare/submit reports to outside agencies on scheduleManage hazardous materials program and mitigate exposure to safety and environmental hazards and risks in the workplaceIdentify cost-effective solutions for technical and regulatory environmental issuesTrain facility personnel with respect to environmental regulationsObtain and maintain Method 9 certificationRepresent the site during agency inspections and interactionsIdentify environmental stewardship opportunities and lead environmental stewardship initiatives for the siteWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Environmental Management, or Environmental ScienceWhat Will Put You AheadOne (1) year or more of environmental experience in a manufacturing/industrial facilityTwo (2) years or more of environmental compliance and management systems experienceExperience with an Air Permit programExperience conducting facility audits, self-assessments, or inspections to identify improvement areasExperience in or have a basic understanding of project management skillsExperience in understanding or ability to quickly understand emissions calculations Experience implementing key management systems/controls such as Permits, Plans, License & Registration, and Compliance CalendarsExperience with ODEQ rules and regulationsCurrent Method 9 Opacity certificationFor this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $135,000 per year.
