Construction Project Manager

Overview Trane in Richmond is hiring a Construction Project Manager to manage all aspects of multi‑million dollar construction, energy services, and HVAC controls projects portfolio. The role has direct responsibility for project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction. The manager will lead the project team and serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders while supporting project development to scope total solutions. Responsibilities Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation, project development, and proposals. Validate project scope, cost, and schedule by reviewing contract documents, attending pre‑bid validation meetings, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations. Manage change orders, identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizing pricing strategies, and closing orders to provide total solutions across business streams. Maintain customer satisfaction by building relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and developing communication plans with internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates. Utilize qualified subcontractors, oversee the RFQ process, award subcontracts, manage subcontractor execution, and collaborate to establish communication guidelines for project progress, meetings, billing expectations, and safety. Handle all financial aspects of projects, including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost/revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, and buy‑out plans; prepare for monthly backlog reviews with leaders. Create and maintain project schedules, generating tasks, dependencies, milestones, critical paths, resource assignments, and identifying future planning needs and resource constraints. Lead project administration, ensuring adherence to contract penalty clauses, analyzing reporting to identify deficiencies, providing corrective guidance, managing compliance, documentation, safety guidelines, and navigating governing agency requirements. Qualifications Advanced understanding of the development phase related to construction energy projects and opportunities. Knowledgeable about all construction systems and technologies. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor other project managers and influence without authority. Organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to lead a project team successfully. Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Project Management degree; or a combination of degree and 5–10 years experience. Ability to obtain a General Contracting license a plus. Experience with project schedules and PM construction software. Compensation Annual Base Salary Range: $72,611.66 – $101,394.99 (USD). Incentive eligible: Yes.
