Junior Varsity Volleyball Coach

Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball Head Coach Location: Raymond High School Position Overview The Athletics Department is seeking a Junior Varsity Volleyball Head Coach for the team beginning August 2026. This part‑time, seasonal role is directly under the Athletics Director and is responsible for the Junior Varsity program. The Head Coach will build an inclusive and positive team culture, teach fundamental and advanced skills, prepare the team for interscholastic competition, and professionally communicate with players, families, and colleagues. Reports to: Director of Athletics and Principal; responsibilities include enforcing school and state policies, NFHS and NHIAA rules, and upholding sportsmanship and student‑athlete success. General Summary Head coaches develop and implement a comprehensive athletic program focused on coaching and mentoring student‑athletes, fostering skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Effective communication, leadership, and organizational skills are essential for creating a positive and competitive sports environment. Qualifications Coaching certification or ability to obtain one upon request Prior coaching experience (preferred) Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and techniques Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to motivate and inspire student‑athletes Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities Essential Job Functions Player development: Provide quality coaching with emphasis on skill development, strategy, and overall performance; conduct regular practices to enhance individual and team skills; foster a positive, inclusive team culture promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. Game preparation: Develop and implement effective game strategies; analyze opponents and adapt coaching techniques accordingly; ensure players are mentally and physically prepared for competition. Player evaluation: Assess and evaluate player performance during practices and games; provide constructive feedback for improvement. Team management: Organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and events; collaborate with assistant coaches for a coordinated approach. Athlete mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting academic success, character development, and responsible behavior. Compliance and safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant school, district, and league policies; prioritize student safety during all activities. Community engagement: Build positive relationships with parents, school administration, and local community; represent the school at relevant meetings and events. Other Duties and Responsibilities Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate practice and competition schedules Bus travel with athletes for away games and tournaments Maintain accurate records for athletes Ensure all equipment and facilities are safe for competition Perform other related duties as required by supervisors #J-18808-Ljbffr
