Step into a rewarding opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist working within an elementary school setting for the upcoming academic year. This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact, providing essential services to young learners from October to June. You’ll work Monday through Friday, supporting students across two nearby sites and collaborating with a dedicated team of educators and staff.
Qualifications/Experience Desired:
- Active and valid Occupational Therapist license in California
- Prior experience as a school-based OT, especially with elementary-aged children
- Strong understanding of educational IEP processes and related service delivery
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet diverse student needs
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to an elementary caseload, helping students develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation abilities
- Assess students’ needs and document progress through regular goal-oriented sessions
- Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support each child’s unique learning pathway
- Split time effectively between two school sites, managing schedules and therapy plans efficiently
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary student support teams
- Maintain thorough and accurate records in compliance with district and state guidelines
