Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description
This role involves working on a fast-paced production line to load, inspect, and stack bricks onto pallets for wrapping and placement into inventory. You will handle 20-pound bricks throughout your shift, carefully grading and inspecting each piece before stacking it on pallets. The work is highly physical, repetitive, and performed in a hot, loud, and dusty environment, requiring consistent effort, focus, and reliability.
Responsibilities

• Load bricks onto pallets to be wrapped and moved into inventory.
• Work on a conveyor line handling 20-pound bricks throughout the shift.
• Grade and visually inspect bricks for quality before placing them on pallets.
• Stack bricks neatly and securely on pallets to ensure safe transport and storage.
• Rotate between working at the front and the back of the production line as scheduled.
• Maintain a steady work pace in a boring, repetitive, and fast-paced production environment.
• Perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while standing in the same area on the line.
• Lift 20-pound bricks repetitively all day, cumulatively lifting approximately 60,000-80,000 pounds per day.
• Follow safety procedures and use proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
• Demonstrate consistent effort, integrity, and reliability by showing up on time and honoring work commitments.
• Assist with general production, packaging, and loading tasks as needed.
• Support loading and unloading trucks when required.
• Collaborate with team members to keep the line running smoothly and efficiently.
• Keep the immediate work area organized and free of unnecessary debris to support safe operations.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform very physical labor for an entire shift, including continuous lifting of 20-pound bricks.
• Capacity to work in a hot, loud, dusty, and dirty production environment.
• Comfort with boring, repetitive, and fast-paced work while maintaining accuracy and quality.
• Ability to stand in one area for extended periods while frequently bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to consistently pull your own weight on the team.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and commitment to honoring work schedules and responsibilities.
• Basic general labor and general production experience or the ability to quickly learn these tasks.
• Attention to detail for grading and inspecting bricks on a moving conveyor line.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and use safe lifting and handling techniques.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous forklift experience is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude or prior mechanical experience is beneficial.
• Experience with packaging, loading, and unloading trucks is helpful.
• Interest in growing into roles such as forklift operator, machine operator, or heavy equipment operator.
• Comfort working in a unionized environment with structured pay increases and benefits.

Work Environment
The role is based in a covered production facility with open doors and a kiln continuously firing bricks, which creates a hot, loud, and dusty setting. Temperature-regulating systems and fans are in place, but the environment remains physically demanding and can be uncomfortable, especially during warmer periods. The facility produces a wide range of masonry and hardscape products, including bricks, retaining walls, paver patios, and concrete masonry units. Work takes place on and around conveyor lines and pallets in a fast-paced production area that requires constant movement, repetitive lifting, and close attention to safety procedures. Expect a dirty, industrial atmosphere where sturdy, practical work attire suitable for heavy labor and dusty conditions is appropriate.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mica, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.45 - $21.70/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
