Friends of the High Line is hiring for a Finance Assistant Position in Greenwich Village, New York City. Base pay starts at $24/hr.

The finance assistant supports the Finance Department's workflow on a full-time basis. The assistant will be responsible for data entry tasks within the accounting system (Financial Edge) as well as assisting the department with other finance-related projects as needed, both in accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card reconciliation, and other financial needs. The position reports to the controller and works closely with the entire finance team. This is a full-time, year-round, non-exempt position. The High Line requires all employees to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless a medical or religious accommodation is needed in accordance with applicable law.

The hourly rate for this position is $24/hour

Qualifications

• Upload transactions from the fundraising database (Raiser's Edge) to the financial system
• Enter and reconcile cash receipts
• Create A/R invoices and prepare relevant reports
• Support the A/P process: enter invoices and subsequent payment records, maintain supporting electronic paperwork, and mail checks
• Assist the transition to an automated A/P system
• Maintain and organize an electronic database of financial paperwork
• Enter credit card charges and obtain receipts and documentation from staff
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure records are accurate
• Provide schedules support and journal entries for insurance retention, filings, and other records invoices
• Maintain food concessions income reconciliation
• Support the yearly audit by providing information as needed
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
