The CNC Lathe Machinist plays a vital role in precision manufacturing by operating and maintaining CNC lathe machines. As a key team member reporting directly to the Production Manager, this position focuses on producing high-quality machined parts through expert operation, setup, and maintenance of CNC lathe equipment. The role offers opportunities for skill development, cross-training, and advancement to lead machinist positions within a safety-focused environment utilizing standard CNC software such as Fanuc and Haas.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes to produce precision components according to specifications
- Set up machines, including loading programs and calibrating tools
- Load and adjust CNC programs using standard software (e.g., Fanuc, Haas)
- Inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to blueprints
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Document processes, machine settings, and production data
- Handle materials efficiently to support machining operations
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in CNC machining with lathe operation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in blueprint reading and precision measurement
- Experience with G-code programming and tool calibration
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity and safety compliance
