Medical Assistant – Outpatient Primary Care

Requirements:

• 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinic
• Graduate of a DAPIP-accredited Medical Assistant program (copy of certification required)
• High school diploma or GED
• Recent, demonstrable experience in venipuncture (high-volume phlebotomy)
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Willingness to work with pediatric patients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Room patients and obtain vital signs
• Conduct medication reviews and manage documentation of medications and labs
• Perform venipuncture, drawing 1-5 vials per patient
• Prepare specimens for lab testing
• Administer immunizations and injections
• Assist with basic procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice

Compliance / Notes:

• References: 2 supervisor references required from within the past 12 months
• Background checks are mandatory
• Maximum return time off (RTO) is 7 days; no RTO during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Orientation: 160 hours required
• Pre-start modules required prior to commencement of employment
