Public Finance Paralegal

Opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Public Finance Group of an Am Law 200 Firm in New York. The Firm Our client is a prestigious Am Law 200 Mid-Sized Firm with a strong presence across key U.S. legal markets. Operating with Tier 1 Finance practices, it is nationally recognized for its strength in Public Finance. This position requires an in-office presence but includes flexibility for some remote work. The Practice The firm has an impressive public finance group, that regularly handle private activity bond financings, including single-family housing, multifamily housing, and 501(c)(3) non-profit transactions. The firm's public finance clients include state governments, state agencies and authorities, counties, cities, villages, towns, school districts and other special purpose districts and municipal non-profit corporations and authorities located across the country. Main Partner Focus The main partner for this specific group has represented clients in a wide variety of housing finance and other public finance transactions, serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriters counsel and special counsel. The main partner is a nationally recognised leader in the public finance community, currently serving on the Board of the San Diego Chapter and previously serving as treasurer on the National Board. The Opportunity The Firm seeks a bright, hard-working candidate with strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail. This is a rare opportunity to work closely with attorneys in the Public Finance practice group and have opportunities for direct contact with clients. Requirements The ideal candidate will have excellent document production skills (typing, spelling, grammar and punctuation) and time management skills, as well as strong interpersonal, analytical, research and writing skills. The ability to project professional presence and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments is essential. Public finance, real estate or banking experience is a plus. At least five years of transactional experience and ability to bill at least 1,500 hours per year Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, document management and redlining applications and time keeping programs Commitment to client service and the ability to work independently and manage multiple fast-paced matters under deadline pressure Attention to detail and timelines and ability to organize and prioritize tasks Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required in order to communicate and follow instructions effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff Ability to understand and utilize computer equipment, software and search tools in order to locate information, set up databases and spreadsheets and work with form documents and other applications Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Committed to following all Firm security protocols and maintaining information security Salary: In accordance with pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $100,000 - $200,000. #J-18808-Ljbffr Birchrose Associates
