DB2 DBAThe DBA will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, enhancement and performance tuning of DB2 for AIX databases and performing IBM Curam database deployments. The DBA will also work as part of a team to provide DB2 DBMS subsystems management.In addition, this person will be required to provide 24x7 after hours support on a rotating basis. Local candidates preferred, but not required. Minimal supervision required.A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field and in-depth IBM DB2 Database Administration experience (3+ years). Database administration experience with IBM Curam highly desired.Responsibilities include performing Curam database deployments, database administration, implementation, and maintenance tasks including enforcing change management and database naming/creation/deletion standards in DEV, TST, UAT and PRD environments, establishing, overseeing, and optimizing all database maintenance and backup processes, enforcing and implementing appropriate security measures, troubleshooting application database issues, ensuring the 24/7 availability and performance of the databases that support our systems, optimizing the hardware/system resources allocated to the databases for high availability and minimum downtime, providing assistance to developers in DBMS performance tuning, best practices architecture and problem resolution, resolving database performance issues, database capacity issues, and other data issues, managing backup and recovery of databases, preparing, maintaining and executing disaster recovery plans, monitoring databases for errors and performing problem determination when necessary, and developing process automation scripts to enhance the efficiency of operations.
