- Assisting with cloud migration of existing code;
- Providing design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy;
- Developing enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions, and features;
- Using a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers;
- Providing expertise regarding the integration of applications across the Department;
- Determining specifications, then plans, designs, and develop the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes- either individually or in concert with a project team;
- Assisting in the most difficult support problems;
- Developing programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse;
- Having in-depth knowledge of state-of-the-art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing, and debugging programs;
- Understanding and consistently applying the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies;
- Researching and maintaining knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the Department;
- Conducting code reviews as requested;
- Viewing both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines; and
- Acting as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent.
- Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or other related field/equivalent work experience;
- A minimum of five (5) years of design and/or development experience with ColdFusion;
- Experience with JavaScript Oracle, and Structured Query Language (SQL) Server in an N-tier architecture;
- Experience with Solaris, Bash Shell scripting;
- A minimum of three (3) years of cloud development experience;
- Demonstrated experience in object-oriented development techniques;
- Database design and development (Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server);
- SQL tuning;
- Experience as a project leader on multiple IT projects;
- Experience as an expert/lead technical role. Experience working various projects/issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments;
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies;
- Support production deployments; assist with troubleshooting deployment issues; and
- Experience in Incident Full Kit (IFK) meetings to create user stories, complete Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for incidents and refinements of product backlog; and
- Experience with Azure DevOps
