Job Title: Senior Accountant


Location: San Antonio, Texas (Onsite)


Job Type: Contract to Hire


Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 / Annually

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Accounting preferred)
• 3-5 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliation tools)
• Comfortable supporting several entities, departments, and cost centers
• Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills
• Works independently, with sound judgment on confidential information

Key Duties

• Own portions of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and financial statements
• Track fixed assets and maintain depreciation and amortization schedules
• Support budgeting and budget-to-actual variance analysis
• Assist with year-end close and audit requests
• Coordinate with AP, AR, payroll, and banking teams to resolve accounting issues
• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls
