Transportation Engineer

Busse Transportation Engineering, Inc. (AMT) is an employee‑owned ENR 500 A/E firm headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. The firm designs and delivers projects in civil engineering, construction management, traffic and transportation, water and wastewater, environmental resources, and landscape architecture. Position Transportation Engineer – a role that requires a minimum of three years of relevant experience. The successful candidate may work from one of the firm’s Mid‑Atlantic office locations: Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited institution (required) Minimum 3 years’ experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation (required) Engineering‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) certification (preferred) Experience with MicroStation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D (required) Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co‑workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members (required) Responsibilities Support a variety of projects, including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports Develop horizontal and vertical alignments Perform cross‑section and superelevation design; design roadside barriers, ADA curb ramps, roadway models Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic‑related plans Benefits Competitive salary and benefits package Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid parental leave Life and disability insurance Strong 401(k) company match plus ESOP shares Hybrid work schedule with up to two days working from home per week Nine paid holidays and three weeks paid time off Education assistance, in‑house training, and paid time for professional organization involvement #J-18808-Ljbffr
