Business Development Coordinator

Job title: Business Development (BDC) Representative – Sales Location: Highland, IL (on-site), supporting Steve Schmitt Chevrolet Buick GMC Ford in Highland and Steve Schmitt of Litchfield Employment type: Full-time, hourly Pay: $16.00–$18.00 per hour, depending on experience, plus a monthly performance bonus based on appointments that show, vehicles sold and response quality. Overtime paid after 40 hours. Our customers find us online first, and our Business Development Center is often the first department they talk to. We're growing that team and looking for someone who likes helping people, follows through, and wants to build a career in the automotive business. What you'll do * Respond to internet, text, chat and phone inquiries for new and used vehicles at both stores, usually within 15 minutes during business hours. * Give shoppers specific answers: a matching vehicle with its stock number, photos or a video, and a manager-approved price or payment. * Set appointments for the sales team, confirm them, and follow up on customers who don't show. * Follow up with unsold customers for up to 90 days on a set schedule: new arrivals, price changes, incentives and trade-in offers. * Search inventory at both stores, and help arrange dealer trades or factory orders when we don't have the exact vehicle. * Answer inbound sales calls and route them to the right person. * Keep accurate CRM records on every lead, including the vehicle the customer asked about and every contact made. * Hand hot leads to a sales manager right away, such as customers with a competing offer or a trade-in. * Work daily with our BDC manager and sales managers on follow-up lists, appointment goals and lead quality. What we're looking for * At least 1 year of experience in a call center, customer service, sales or a dealership BDC. Dealership experience is preferred but not required. * A clear, friendly phone manner and strong writing for text and email. * Comfort with computers and learning new software. Experience with Podium, or an automotive CRM is a plus. * Organized and reliable, with consistent follow-through over days and weeks, not just the first contact. * Interest in vehicles and willingness to learn our Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Ford lineups. * Availability for some evenings and Saturdays. * High school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. What we offer * Hourly base pay plus a monthly bonus with no cap on appointment and sales bonuses. * Paid training on our process, inventory and tools. * A defined process, daily targets and a manager who coaches you. * Room to advance into sales, BDC leadership or other roles in the group.
