A venture-backed health technology company seeking a Senior Accountant to join its expanding finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and Controller, this individual will play a key role in the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives as the organization continues to scale.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to a high-growth environment while partnering closely with leadership across finance, operations, and business teams.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances as needed.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Analyze financial results and provide explanations for key fluctuations and trends.
- Assist with revenue recognition, expense accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset accounting.
- Partner with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Support annual audits and coordinate requests from external auditors.
- Assist with the development and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Support ad hoc projects related to financial reporting, systems implementations, and business growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes.
- Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
