Senior Family Law Attorney

Family Law Attorney Our well-established family law practice in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with 2–10+ years of litigation and case-handling experience to join our team. This role is ideal for a lawyer who is comfortable managing a full caseload, appearing in court, and developing strong client relationships. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement with flexibility and autonomy. Key Responsibilities Independently manage a diverse family law caseload, including: Divorce (contested and uncontested) Custody and visitation Child support and spousal support Property distribution and marital asset issues Protective orders and related family matters Draft and review pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, discovery responses, and financial documents. Conduct legal research and develop case strategy with minimal supervision. Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trial. Maintain regular communication with clients and ensure exceptional client service. Collaborate with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to move cases efficiently. Participate in business development activities as desired (optional but beneficial). Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Maryland Bar (DC or VA admission a plus). 2-10 years experience, including courtroom litigation. Strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional, empathetic, and client-focused demeanor.
