Job Title: Analyst I – Forensic Services Department: Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASHA) Location: San Luis Obispo County, CA Salary: $3,861.00 – $6,276.00 per month (new to state candidates hired at minimum salary) Telework: Hybrid (subject to business needs) Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Classification: Analyst I (JC‑521323) Job Description and Duties Monitor and track forensic referrals submitted to the Forensic Services Department, including evaluation coverage referrals. Review case records to determine required documents for evaluators, providing them expeditiously. Assess civil service workload in collaboration with Legal desks and management to ensure equitable assignment distribution and appropriate use of contract evaluators. Learn, understand, retain, and apply a broad range of highly technical data to individual cases. Process monthly invoices in accordance with department practices, validating billings from contract evaluators and processing through DSH‑A Accounting. Maintain an accurate and detailed database for tracking and reporting to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the State Authorized Risk Assessment Tool for Sex Offenders (SARATSO). Employ organizational office skills to assist with departmental duties. Eligibility and Minimum Requirements Current classification holder, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, list or LEAP eligibility, SROA/Surplus eligibility (priority), or other listed eligibility. Must meet all minimum qualifications specified in the Classification Specification. Background investigation and medical clearance required prior to hiring. Working Conditions After successful completion of the probation period, the role may qualify for hybrid work arrangements. Remote work extent is determined by the department and may vary based on business requirements.
