Sr. Food Service Worker, Per Diem

Job Responsibilities This person works as a team to provide food service that is safe, accurate, timely, and responsive to the customer and patient’s needs. Food service includes stocking, assembling, and serving portion-controlled hot and cold food, replenishing and stocking stations, and general sanitation duties. This position is in Catering Food Services and includes setup, serving, and cleanup of catering events across UCSF Health sites. The individual may also be responsible for driving the catering van with food and supplies to events. The person maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the foodservice areas and equipment and is responsible for providing excellent customer, patient, and staff interactions, serving as the ambassador for the department of Nutrition and Food Services. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience within the food service, hospitality, or retail industries. Read, write, follow written or oral instructions and be understood in English. Basic computer skills. Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Ability to meet the physical demands involved with job duties as outlined. Preferred Qualifications Two years of college or equivalent. State of California Food Handler certification or ServSafe certification. Salary Information The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range depends on experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement will be guided by the collective bargaining agreement.
